由Siobhan De Mare和Martin Virgo的mono也属于玩票式乐队，据说他们在酒吧里遇见，后来就组成了这个低调的乐队，至今也只出过一张专辑。但这已足够了。这张伟大的专辑集合了多种音乐元素:trip hop,pop,jazz，也许还有更多。Siobhan De Mare带着喘息的唱法非常性感。

Massive Attack，一个伟大的名字，他们的出现为音乐界来次彻底的革命，使trip hop这种音乐风格风行世界。
在这里又不得不提到Cocteau Twins的女主唱 Elizabeth Fraser，她为《Mezzanine》演唱了3首歌曲，包括脍炙人口的“teardrop”，Fraser很dream的嗓音加上轻松的鼓点和钢琴，显得轻柔迷幻。

另类又年轻的Fiona Apple的音乐造诣可一点也不逊色，翻唱the beatles的“across the universe”拥有jazz的优雅和穿透情感的理智。

Fiona Apple成长于曼哈顿，来自于一个艺术家庭，父亲是一个演员，母亲是歌手、舞蹈家、厨师和家庭妇女。父母离婚后，Apple姐妹俩和母亲一道住在纽约一座公寓里。Apple 8岁时从音乐中找到了安慰并开始学弹钢琴。在1994年高中毕业后，Apple看望了她在洛杉矶的父亲，在那她录了一盘Demo带，然后大量拷贝寄给别人。之后她回到纽约过圣诞，Apple捎了一盘带给一位老同学，这位同学在一位唱片公司老板家做保姆。接下去的事情很简单：这位老板（Kathryn Schenker）听到了Demo带，并在圣诞晚会上播给了著名制作人Andrew Slater，随后他们便开始了持续至今的合作，apple签下了Sony的合约。
